Westrom Statement on the Importance of Congress' Relationship with Indian Tribes

Today Torrey Westrom, the Republican running for Congress in Minnesota's 7th District, released the following statement on the importance of maintaining a strong relationship between Congress and Indian Tribes:

"Congress has a unique role in the government-to-government relationship we foster with Indian Tribes, which should be respected and nurtured. When elected to Congress, I will work to ensure the existing relationship our legislature has with Indian Tribes is strengthened, and that it continues to grow to the benefit of all Minnesotans. The Dakota Communities and Ojibwe Bands within the 7th Congressional District have a long and honored history in this area. I will be proud to serve as their partner and advocate in Congress, and to ensure the commitments that have been made to the original inhabitants of this land are fulfilled and respected."
