Today U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis voted with a majority of her colleagues to pass H.R. 596 to repeal Obamacare. The legislation is written so the repeal would take place 180 days after enactment and directs Committees of jurisdiction to use that time to replace Obamacare legislation to achieve better health care through lower premiums, restore the doctor-patient relationship, expand conscience protections, and reduce the tax burdens on Americans. Rep. Lummis is an original co-sponsor of the bill.

"Obamacare was forced on the American people by an all Democrat Congress and President more focused on their own legacies than what was good for American families," said Rep. Lummis. "Instead of empowering patients and their doctors, Obamacare empowers the federal government. This law has saddled Wyoming patients, doctors, hospitals, and small businesses with mandates, regulations, and financial burdens. We're not alone in calling for the repeal of Obamacare and the more premiums continue to go up, fines are doled out, and broken promises are exposed, the more Americans will see Obamacare for the train-wreck it remains and join us in calling for its repeal and replacement with patient centered, free market healthcare reform."
