Gov. Rick Snyder: Candice Miller has Been a Respected, Passionate Leader for Michigan

Gov. Rick Snyder issued the following statement on the announcement from U.S. Rep. Candice Miller that she will not seek re-election at the end of her current term.

"I want to salute Candice Miller for her career serving the people of Michigan, and especially those living in her district, which includes Macomb, St. Clair, Huron, Tuscola, Sanilac and Lapeer counties, whom she has passionately represented in Congress for more than a decade. I've long respected her expertise and leadership on matters pertaining to our nation's defense and her tireless efforts to protect the environment, especially the Great Lakes. Rep. Miller also was an effective Michigan secretary of state for eight years. I thank her for her devoted service and wish her and her husband, Don, the best for what will be next in their lives."
