Barton on Keystone Pipeline Vote: "A Winner for America"

Statement

Date: Feb. 12, 2015
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Oil and Gas

Rep. Joe Barton (R-Ennis/Arlington) released the following statement after voting for S 1, the Keystone XL Pipeline Approval Act. It passed the House of Representatives Wednesday and is now on the way to the President's desk.

"More jobs, more energy, lower prices at the pump -- the Keystone pipeline is a winner for America. After being approved by the House and the Senate, we now get to see "officially' where the President stands on this issue. He has threatened to veto this bipartisan legislation, but I continue to hope he will have an epiphany and side with the American people and the Congress by signing this into law. However, if President Obama vetoes this bill -- the fight isn't over. I am confident the House and Senate will continue to push for projects like this, which create jobs and secure our nation's energy future."
