Congressman Becerra: "Doc Fix" Long Overdue

Congressman Xavier Becerra (CA-34), Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, released the following statement after voting for legislation that would replace the current formula for Medicare doctor reimbursements, known as the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR), and fund the Children's Health Insurance Program for another two years:

"Today's fix to Medicare's payment formula for doctors is an important step forward. I congratulate Leader Pelosi and Speaker Boehner for their work to craft a bipartisan agreement that moves their long-overdue 'doc fix' legislation toward enactment. Seniors in America worked hard and paid for their Medicare so we owe them the security and peace of mind of knowing that Medicare will be there for them when they need it."
