Issue Position: Protecting Public Health

For over fifty years, state law has required that pet owners must have their pets vaccinated against rabies. In some areas no local rabies clinics are made available to the public, resulting in much higher costs to the pet owner and a threat to public health. Bobby's HB 1859 addresses this problem by requiring that the local government must ensure that there will be at least one public clinic to serve their community at least every other year. This will make it much more convenient for the pet owner, make it more affordable, and will help to protect the public from this dreaded disease.
