Statement

Date: June 10, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Xavier Becerra (CA-34), Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, released the following statement after the Los Angeles City Council voted to raise the minimum wage to $15 by 2020:

"Today is a proud day for the people of Los Angeles. Our City Council has moved Los Angeles to the front lines in the fight for a living wage for all Americans. No one who puts in a hard day's work, every day, should be forced to live in poverty.

"For the sake of our families and our economy, it's time to reward hard work and restore America's confidence in the American Dream."
