Fleming Votes for House GOP Budget to Balance Budget and Fund Military

Statement

Date: March 25, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman John Fleming, M.D. released the following statement after voting in favor of the House GOP Budget today to establish the budget for fiscal year 2016:

"This budget provides a fiscally sound path forward for our country; my vote today supports this new direction. I voted for the House GOP budget because it's a strong plan that will balance the budget in less than 10 years, cut $5.5 trillion in spending and repeal Obamacare -- including all taxes, regulations and mandates. Additionally, the budget will fully support the military, providing up to $619 billion (includes Overseas Contingencies Operations funds) to pay for troop training, equipment and compensation.

"I was pleased that the GOP budget included my request to repeal Obamacare through budget reconciliation, as stated in a letter I sent earlier this year to House Leadership."
