  • Rated 100% by National Right to Life Committee. (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "We must safeguard our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I do not believe it was an accident that our Founders listed life as the first of our God-given rights. I'm pro-life and believe we should defend life and liberty from conception to natural death." (nancymace.org)
  • "I'll stand up for the unborn and will vote to defund taxpayer-funded abortions." (nancymace.org)
  • "I support exceptions to abortion for victims of rape and incest." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "As we all know, healthcare hasn't gotten any cheaper since the government expanded its role in the market, and far too often, we look to the government for solutions to issues in private industry. But, as a limited-government, fiscal conservative, I understand when politics and overly burdensome regulations are removed from industry, the door is opened for REAL competition -- and the free-market is able to deliver a higher-quality product at a lower price for the consumer." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • Voted against S 610 "Protecting Medicare and American Farmers from Sequester Cuts Act." (votesmart.org)
  • Rated 0% by Alliance for Retired Americans (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • Voted against HR 1 "For the People Act of 2021." (votesmart.org)
  • "Unfortunately, rather than work with Republicans to meet this challenge, Democrats have reintroduced the same partisan "reform' bill which went nowhere last year. And like last year, they've ignored Republican proposals to keep bad cops from hiding behind union contracts and require federal law enforcement to record interviews." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • Voted against HR 1280 "George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021." (votesmart.org)
  • "We need to ensure that our police here in SC are ready and able to protect our communities at a moments notice. As I have done as a state lawmaker, I will continue to advocate for the funding necessary to keep our communities safe and to put the #LowcountryFIRST." (twitter.com)
  • "It's encouraging to see the House come together in a bipartisan way to give servicemembers a much deserved pay raise and boost our defense budget by $25 billion. This nearly 5 percent increase restores funding necessary to maintain a competitive edge in shipbuilding, procurement and missile defense that will keep America's national security stronger than ever," (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • Voted in favor of S 1605 "National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022." (votesmart.org)
  • "I support federal spending to promote economic growth in cases like we are seeing now with the pandemic. However, reopening the economy fully would be the best alternative. We need to get people back to work." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "Let's talk reality: Less than 10% of this bill goes to true infrastructure, like roads and bridges. It "bails" out Amtrak, despite receiving millions from COVID-19 relief funds. There are also 42 new taxes in the bill. Those taxes will be passed on to consumers, and prices on goods will continue to rise to historic highs." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "Rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure is a key component of our campaign. We must provide our kids and communities the resources they need to succeed and thrive. As a state lawmaker, I know how all too often the federal government stands in the way of innovation and problem-solving at the state and local level." (nancymace.org)
  • Voted against HR 3684 "Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act." (votesmart.org)
  • "I support federal spending to promote economic growth in cases like we are seeing now with the pandemic. However, reopening the economy fully would be the best alternative. We need to get people back to work." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "I've said it before and I'll say it again: this 'COVID-19 Relief' bill has nothing to do with COVID-19 relief. Of the $1.9 trillion in new spending in this monstrosity, less than 9% of it is slated to actually fight the pandemic. Even worse, $1 trillion sent by Congress for COVID-19 relief hasn't even been spent yet." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "The CARES Act allowed small businesses to write off their COVID-19 related losses -- but these business owners would not be able to do so until 2021. This is an instance where government must operate at the speed of business. Waiting until 2021 to get these deductions processed is simply too late. Congress needs to act to let these small businesses deduct their losses NOW -- not in 2021. " (www.facebook.com)
  • Voted against HR 1319 "American Rescue Plan Act of 2021." (votesmart.org)
  • "American families are cutting back spending on basic food and necessities, and Joe Biden is busy pushing a new tax increase and massive spending plan, which will make inflation worse. What have you and your family had to cut back spending on due to this record #inflation?" (twitter.com)
  • "Despite what D.C. wants you to think, families are still experiencing inflation when they go to the grocery store or the gas pump. I'm going to continue speaking out about the big government spending that is causing this mess." (twitter.com)
  • "Lowcountry families are still feeling the pain from inflation. This Inflation Reduction Act will do absolutely nothing to help these families who are seeing the prices at the grocery store go up while their wages remain the same. More taxes and spending isn't the answer." (twitter.com)
  • "The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 is Build Back Better lite. This bill promises billions in new deficit spending for big government programs, and of course billions of dollars in new taxes. We aren’t going to tax and spend our way out of inflation or a recession." (twitter.com)
  • "How can you justify charging students the same price for remote instruction that they would for in-person when you have a $40 BILLION endowment? College is an expensive investment, but crippling student debt limits the potential of those who want a college education." (twitter.com)
  • "One area that has been an ongoing problem even before Coronavirus is our ever-increasing student loan debt. This crippling student debt is limiting the potential of our best and brightest for generations to come." (twitter.com)
  • "I believe that it should be easy to vote and hard to cheat, which is why I’m a strong advocate for Voter ID laws." (nancymace.org)
  • "#VoterID is not racist. If you’ve gotta provide an ID to board a plane, rent an apartment, or buy a pack of cigarettes, it’s only fair that in support of one of our most sacred rights, the right to vote, that we show an ID to PROTECT the vote." (twitter.com)
  • Voted in favor of H 4421 "Expands Use of Solar Power." (votesmart.org)
  • "Joe Biden blames Putin's war in Ukraine for the pain Americans are feeling at the pump, when it's really Joe Biden's war on American energy production. Biden doubled the cost of gas in SC, fueling inflation, and now families aren't able to pay for things they could once afford." (twitter.com)
  • "Joe Biden declared war on US domestic energy independence the day he took office, when he canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline. Ever since it has been a non-stop march towards punishing American oil and everyone who can’t afford a Tesla." (nancymace.org)
  • ""As the representative of South Carolina's First Congressional District, I have a responsibility to protect the Lowcountry from methane leaks, which devastate the health of both our residents and our environment," Mace said. "This bipartisan bill will prevent the reckless destruction of our beautiful communities by curbing methane leaks without burdening our nation's critical oil and gas industries. This bill is a commonsense step toward conserving South Carolina's pristine environment and I look forward to seeing the President sign this into law."" (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • ""I've always stood against offshore drilling off South Carolina's coast, even before I came to Congress," Mace said."This bill is a continuation of my commitment to the Lowcountry to ensure our beaches, environment, and wildlife are protected. I am ready to help lead this effort to bar oil rigs from our coastline for at least the next decade, and I know the Lowcountry is too."" (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • Voted in favor of HR 2467 "PFAS Action Act of 2021." (votesmart.org)
  • "As the representative of South Carolina's First Congressional District, I have a responsibility to protect the Lowcountry from methane leaks, which devastate the health of both our residents and our environment," Mace said. "This bipartisan bill will prevent the reckless destruction of our beautiful communities by curbing methane leaks without burdening our nation's critical oil and gas industries. I am ready to help lead this effort to bar oil rigs from our coastline for at least the next decade, and I know the Lowcountry is too." (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "We need to protect our environment, but we don’t need socialist policies to do it. Dem. Joe Cunningham says he’s against the Green New Deal but voted to spend $200B on its mandates, going back on his word to Lowcountry voters. This isn’t the first time. We can do better." (twitter.com)
  • "I believe the Bill of Rights protects our right to protect our lives, family and property through the use of firearms. I believe background checks can and should be used, but absent a criminal record preventing gun ownership, Washington DC and Columbia should not infringe upon these rights. My record as a state lawmaker has supported the Second Amendment. Recently I drafted a concealed carry reciprocity bill. And when the Left has worked to take away our Second Amendment rights, I've worked to find better ways to hold criminals accountable and keep guns out of the hands of bad guys because we all know criminals don't follow laws--they break them." (nancymace.org)
  • "I wanted to highlight the National Concealed Weapons Permit Reciprocity Act (H4314). No law-abiding American should ever be denied their constitutional freedoms--and the right to bear arms isn't something lawful gun owners should lose as they travel across state lines." (twitter.com)
  • Rated 92% by National Rifle Association (NRA). (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • Voted against HR 1446 "Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2021." (votesmart.org)

  • "#HealthCare Needs Market Competition, Not #Government Restriction; Time to eliminate Certificate of Need:" (twitter.com)
  • "It’s called Certificate of Need. Time to follow the lead of other states and eliminate. Monopolies and burdensome regulations hasten the supply both in quantity and quality in the healthcare market..." (twitter.com)
  • Despite exhaustive research, Vote Smart was unable to find information about this candidate's position.
  • Voted against H.R. 6833 “The Affordable Insulin Now Act” (votesmart.org)
  • "If we show the American people just how disastrous his policies are, we will win back the White House in 2024 and be in position to truly solve this problem and finish the wall once and for all with Republicans in charge." (nancymace.org)
  • "Joe Biden’s administration couldn’t be more reckless in its border policies. Can you believe that Biden mandated vaccines for our troops and border patrol agents, while letting unvaccinated and untested illegal immigrants flood our border? Joe Biden is letting illegal immigrants in without vaccines, yet our troops have to leave the military if they refuse the vaccine? That’s not putting America First." (nancymace.org)
  • Rated 77% by NumbersUSA (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "We need strong leaders who will do what’s right and put America First. I serve on the House Oversight Committee, and under Pelosi’s control, Democrat leadership on the Oversight only had one single hearing on our nation’s border. Just one. Want to guess which border that was? You probably guessed it – it was our northern border, where we apprehend less than 10,000 illegal crossings a year. Did we have a single hearing on our southern border, which saw 2 MILLION crossings last year? No. This has to change." (nancymace.org)
  • "If we can't trust Joe to keep his promises, how long will it be before he supports the rest of the radical left agenda? He's already voted against border security and voted for amnesty. What's next? Open borders, 24x7 healthcare, free dental? Oh, wait... It's time to go." (twitter.com)
  • Voted against HR 1333 "NO BAN Act." (votesmart.org)
  • Voted against HR 6 "American Dream and Promise Act of 2021." (votesmart.org)

  • "Biden has never understood Putin. And now he’s totally unhinged. We should open pipelines, boost NGR production and exports to Europe, and impose real sanctions. The traffic tickets President Biden is writing won’t stop tanks and missiles." (twitter.com)
  • "China is watching the US and our Western allies in Ukraine. It is critical that we isolate Vladimir Putin and continue crushing sanctions not only to end the Ukrainian invasion, but also to deter future Chinese expansion." (twitter.com)
  • "I oppose sending U.S. troops into a war with Russia over Ukraine. America First – I’m more concerned with securing our own southern border, but that doesn’t mean we can’t also try to stop Putin’s expansion into Europe. I strongly support increased crippling sanctions. I sponsored a bipartisan bill to ban Russian oil imports, and soon after Joe Biden saw both parties behind this idea, he finally banned Russian oil imports. The sanctions simply haven’t done enough. The Russian Ruble is stronger today than it was before the Ukrainian invasion. Weak, indecisive leaders make the world less stable, which means supply chain issues and economic challenges right here at home." (nancymace.org)
  • Voted in favor of H.R. 7691 "Making emergency supplemental appropriations for assistance for the situation in Ukraine for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2022, and for other purposes." (votesmart.org)

  • Voted in favor of H.R. 7691 "Making emergency supplemental appropriations for assistance for the situation in Ukraine for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2022, and for other purposes." (votesmart.org)
  • Voted in favor of S 3522 "Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act of 2022" (votesmart.org)
  • "We can't achieve a no-fly zone over Ukraine with a dozen or so Polish MiG jets. It would require hundreds of jets, which Russia could see as an escalation of war. We all want an end to this horrible invasion, but we don't want World War III." (twitter.com)
  • "Good morning to everyone except the House Democrats who are trying to pass a $3 TRILLION tax increase." (twitter.com)
  • "Higher taxes will only prove to make life harder for working families. The Senate voted to increase taxes by over $700 billion and double the size of the IRS. Under this bill, the IRS will be larger than the FBI, the US Border Patrol, the State Dept, and the Pentagon combined." (twitter.com)
  • "The only candidate with a record of voting to lower taxes 100% of the time. Had a nice visit at the Berkeley County GOP this am. I look forward to being back in my home town of Goose Creek a month from now for our first candidate forum." (twitter.com)
  • "The only thing crazy about me... I'm crazy hard working. Over 1,000 meetings in District and passed 4 bills so far. Crazy about keeping our taxes low. 100% record of lowering taxes. Crazy good at flipping seats. I flipped SC01 & will keep it that way." (twitter.com)
  • "What great news! Today the Senate passed #USMCA. This is a WIN for SC manufacturers." (www.facebook.com)
  • "Moms everywhere are finding empty shelves. Many are now trying to ship it in from other countries. On Monday I’m filing a bill to temporarily waive the tariffs we added in USMCA on imports of baby formula." (twitter.com)
  • Voted in favor of H.R. 8351 “Formula Act” (votesmart.org)

I support fully banning offshore drilling. President Trump's 10 year moratorium is a step in the right direction but if we are to keep not only the coastlines off South Carolina beautiful and clean, we need to permanently ban drilling and seismic testing. Additionally, I want to ensure that our military and veteran communities here in the Lowcountry have their needs represented fully in Congress. Parris Island should and our other military installations should not ever be put at risk. Veterans should never have to work about where and when they will receive their VA benefits.
