Barrasso Statement on Obamacare Repeal Vote

Statement

Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) released the following statement after the Senate voted to repeal the president's health care law.

"As a doctor who's taken care of people in Wyoming for decades, I'm always looking to make health care more affordable and accessible for American families. After almost six years of increased premiums and decreased access to care, it's clear that Obamacare is not the answer.

"The president famously promised that if you liked your plan, you could keep your plan. Families in Wyoming who have lost their insurance because of this law know firsthand this is just another broken promise. To help people who don't have insurance, the president should not have had to hurt so many people who already had insurance.

"Congress has acted, and a repeal bill is now headed to the president's desk. He has an important decision to make. He can stand by and do nothing, or he can work with Congress to replace this unworkable law with the kind of health care reforms that the American people actually need and want."
