U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) released the following statement regarding today's announcement from U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy that he will retire in July.
"I would like to thank Justice Anthony Kennedy for his many years of service, and wish him well in retirement. The president and the Senate now have another historic opportunity. I am confident President Trump will nominate and the Senate will confirm a new justice in the mold of former Justice Antonin Scalia and recently confirmed Justice Neil Gorsuch, judges who apply the law, not legislate from the bench."
