WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), ranking member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources (ENR), issued the following statement in response to the Department of the Interior's secretarial order to rescind the Trump administration's order Promoting Open Science. The Trump administration's order required the publication of scientific data used to make regulatory decisions.

"The Biden administration is slamming the door shut on transparent rules and regulations," said Barrasso. "Since the American people bear the costs of Washington red tape, they deserve to have access to the science behind government regulations. The Trump administration made the data that justifies new rules publically available. Now, the Biden administration is hiding it from the American people."
