Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) and Congressman Anthony G. Brown (MD-04) released the following statement today on Erek Barron's confirmation as the next United States Attorney for the District of Maryland:

"Erek Barron has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to civil rights, equal justice, public safety, and fair-minded reform throughout his career. We congratulate him on his confirmation to become the next United States Attorney for the District of Maryland - the first African American and first Prince Georgian to serve in this office. This is a historic confirmation and a step forward for our state. We look forward to working alongside U.S. Attorney Barron to make our communities safer, deliver justice for Marylanders, and protect the most vulnerable among us."
