House Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement about President Biden's inflation rally at the White House. On President Biden's watch, inflation remains at a 40-year high, oil and natural gas prices surpassed historical records, grocery prices surged 13.5 percent this month, and people's wages can't keep up with rising costs.

"This morning's CPI numbers confirm that inflation continues to spiral out of control under the Democrats' one-party rule. The increase in food, rent, electricity, and health care costs are the highest the U.S. has seen in decades. Families are struggling to afford groceries, keep the lights on, and fill up their gas tanks. Parents are still unable to find essentials like baby formula, and hardworking Americans are watching in disbelief as their retirement savings disappear before their eyes.

"Meanwhile, at a White House inflation rally today, President Biden is celebrating his massive tax and spending spree--which will only exacerbate the pain people and families are feeling. This doubling down on the Democrats' energy and inflation crisis is irresponsible and will only lead to higher energy bills and drug costs for Americans, shut down domestic production of energy, and lead to fewer cures. Republicans stand ready to lift the burden of higher costs, flip the switch to unleash American energy production, and lower health care costs. That is what Americans rightfully want and deserve."

NOTE: Energy and Commerce Republicans are leading the way on solutions that would bring down costs across the board for Americans, including the bipartisan Lower Costs, More Cures Act and the Republicans' Securing Cleaner American Energy Agenda. These solutions would save lives, ensure America leads in the next major medical breakthroughs, and ensure our supply of energy remains reliable and affordable.
