Senator Murray Reacts to President Bush's Veto of Stem Cell Bill

Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) released the following statement on the President's veto of stem cell legislation:

"The President didn't just veto a bill today, he vetoed the hope of millions of Americans. Embryonic stem cell research could open the door to cures for countless diseases, but President Bush today again slammed that door shut. It is a sad day when the President puts the ideological wishes of a few in his party over the health of millions of our citizens. Democrats remain committed to hope, and we will continue working tirelessly for stem cell research."
