CASPER, WY -- Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) released the following statement regarding the Obama Administration's proposed cuts to Medicare Advantage:

"Millions of American seniors chose Medicare Advantage because the program lives up to its name by delivering clear advantages. Instead of listening to seniors and investing in a program that works well, the Obama Administration is doing everything possible to make sure it fails. Gutting the Medicare Advantage program will ensure that even more Americans can't keep the health care they like.

"This new round of cuts to Medicare Advantage is another example of how the health care law is wrecking the health care system in order to "fix' it. If Americans liked something about the health care system, the health care law eliminates it. If Americans don't like something about the health care system, the health care law mandates it.

"The only way Americans of all ages are going to get good care is if we finally get rid of this disastrous health care law. It's time to repeal this law and replace it with patient centered solutions that will help all Americans get affordable, quality health care."

The Senate Republican Policy Committee released a paper on Thursday detailing how cuts to Medicare Advantage will hurt America's seniors.
