Barrasso Statement on Court's Ruling on Obamacare Subsidies

Statement

Date: July 22, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) released the following statement in response to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruling that Obamacare health insurance subsidies are only available through state established exchanges:

"Courts across the country continue to strike down major pieces of Obamacare because the law doesn't work like the President promised. Democrats did an awful job writing this law -- and have done an even worse job implementing it. The law is clear about subsidies and today the court agreed. The court rightfully refused to allow the President to continue ignoring and redefining his signature law.

"The President and Democrats in Congress have no one but themselves to blame for the ongoing legal implications of their decision to force this unpopular and unworkable law upon the American people.

"After another major blow to Obamacare, it's clear we need to repeal this law and replace it with reforms that finally help more Americans get access to high quality, affordable care."
